Fronted by ex-Railroad Gin singer/songwriter Carol Lloyd - recipient of the QSong 2010 Grant McLennan Lifetime Achievement Award - this digitially re-mastered rework of the CAROL LLOYD BAND’S 1976 hit album for EMI Australia “MOTHER WAS ASLEEP AT THE TIME” originally charted No.1-Top 3 in Australia, Japan, Germany, France, Holland and Indonesia.
This re-release also features the No. 1 single “STORM IN MY SOUL”. The single was produced by Colin Peterson ( Bee-Gees drummer).
Lloyd co-wrote the “MOTHER WAS ASLEEP…” album with band mate /keyboard player Peter Harvey (“Rough Red”) and the hit single, “ALL THE GOOD THINGS” earned them the first world-wide publishing deal offered to Australian songwriters by EMI International, elevating CLB to cult band status in many of the 27 countries of its release in 1976.
With tasty guitar licks from US-based music producer, Mark Moffat, this slick Brisbane-born session band also featured Danny Simpson on drums and Gary Broadhurst on bass – Queensland’s most respected players who relished the high-energy which Lloyd bought to their explosive live performance.
It was recorded at EMI Sydney, produced by Clive Shakespeare (“Sherbet”), and engineered by Mike Vidal.
